WPN
Interview with a Female Guest from the Buckeye State
WPN: So is this your first visit to West
Pen?
Guest:
This is my first as a single. My husband and I were here
two years ago. It was our fourth time at a nudist gathering
and we enjoyed every one of them.
WPN:
Where and when was your first time?
Guest:
Our first was in September of 2001 at Paradise Gardens
near Cincinnati. It was a rustic resort, the weather was
perfect, and we had a wonderful time. We rented a little
RV they had there. We were very nervous of coarse and
wanted to fit in, so when we arrived and had clothes on,
we felt out of place. They made us feel welcome. The friendliest
people I've met are at nudist resorts and swims like this.
We all have a lot in common.
WPN:
Where else have you been?
Guest:
About two weeks later we went to Whitethorn in Darlington,
Pa. Same experience there. Everyone was so friendly, and
the grounds were beautiful. We stayed in one of their
cabins. The third was at Avalon in Pawpaw WV. It's a little
more upscale, so I've had a variety of experiences and
enjoyed them all. Avalon was the first time I sat at a
restaurant table nude. I discovered there's limited places
to put your napkin when dinning naked. (LOL) There's lots
to do there any time of the year . That's where we became
friends with Ken and Nancy.
WPN:
Really? Ken told me you were here with them but didn't
mention how you met.
Guest:
Yes, it was at Avalon. We live in the country. Our home
is secluded and Ken and Nancy enjoy coming out to visit
us. My husband passed away two months ago. I miss him
dearly, of coarse, but I still enjoy nudism. We were here
as a couple two years ago. I'm back visiting Ken and Nancy
and I recognize a few faces.
WPN:
There are quite a few new people also. Seems that nudism
is something more people are wanting to experience. We've
been getting new couples visiting nearly ever swim this
season so far.
Guest:
I feel so comfortable here. Nudism is something I never
even wondered about. My husband was the one always curious
about it. So he wanted to try it and we agreed that if
one of us were uncomfortable we wouldn't stay. But we
never felt that way. Is that the way you guys felt?
WPN:
Yeah. Every couple says the same thing. My wife and I
included. I haven't talked to anyone that felt uncomfortable.
Everyone says they were fine in a few minutes. It's fearing
something that we've never done before that's hard to
get past.
Guest:
I love the camping. I feel safer and more comfortable
camping at a nudist park than anywhere else. The people
are friendlier and it seems we all have so much in common.
Everyone loves nature and the outdoors.
WPN:
What else do you do for fun? What's your hobbies?
Guest:
I enjoy reading and cross stitching. I'm working on two
cross stitch projects right now. Outdoor work. In the
summer time I like to mow, plant flowers and garden. House
work is way down on my list.
WPN:
(LOL) Do you practice nudism at home?
Guest:
Yeah, because of the privacy of our home. Not so much
now that he's gone. We first started going nude outside
at home in the back yard and in our woods before we started
going to resorts. It seemed so daring and freeing. It's
something we enjoyed sharing.
WPN:
Have you told anyone about nudism? Family or friends?
Guest:
My husband's family knew. They didn't mind but it wasn't
something any of them wanted to try. One of my sisters
knows because she was on my computer checking her email.
I have a folder called "nudist" and she seen
it. She asked about it, so I told her we were nudist.
After I explained what it was all about she said that
she might want to try it one day. I'm thinking I'll be
able to get her to join me one of these days. She was
like most everyone else that never tried it. She had all
the wrong ideas. I told her how it was very wholesome
and healthy, how I've seen people of all ages, grand parents,
little children, entire families. I think she understands
now.
WPN:
Good! You mentioned being to Paradise Gardens, Whitethorn,
Avalon,...anywhere else?
Guest:
Oh yes. Early this past August we went to Avatan in Minnesota.
That's where my husband's family is from. It was another
beautiful resort. It was another warm day and we had a
great time there. So I've been to four resorts and had
a great time at all. I can't think of anyone that's been
rude or unfriendly towards me. And another reason I feel
safe at nudist venues. Just like here, the rules are strict
and enforced. If you misbehave you'll be asked to leave.
Period. I like that. I feel safer here than just about
anywhere else. It's wonderful. I'll always enjoy nudism.
WPN:
It's nice that the two of you shared this together. Would
you have done it on your own, without your husband?
Guest:
I don't think so. I never thought of it before. I never
knew anyone that did it. But once I tried it with my husband.
I loved it. I'm glad I experienced it, I'm glad it was
with my husband, and now with all my good friends I can't
imagine ever giving up nudism.
WPN:
Thanks for spending the time for this interview.
Guest:
Sure, I hope I gave you something to write about.
WPN:
You sure did! It's been nice meeting you. Thanks again
for sharing your story. And please come back to another
swim soon.
