I started skinny-dippin’ when I was in high school back in the late 50’s. It was just a
bunch of guys that went swimming in the Monongahela river.
A few years later I was in the service stationed in Northern Minnesota. With all the lakes
and rivers we had no problem finding places to skinny-dip. Once again it was all guys.

The fist time I experienced social nudity in mixed company was on a trip to San Francisco
around 1985. I went to a place called Baker Beach. I walked up to the clothing optional
section, spread out my blanket, and started to undress. While taking my clothes off I
looked around. There were several couples laying around, enjoying the sun, reading books
or just chatting. As I removed my shorts I almost expected everyone to stop what they
were doing and look at the naked guy. But no one even glanced my way. I was just one
more nudist enjoying the freedom of social nudity. It’s funny but when you are nude the
sun seems sunnier. The breeze feels breezier and the water feels wetter.

My first experience was on my Honeymoon. We went to Orient Bay at St. Martin. My
husband was a nudist. I wasn’t sure I could do this, but when we arrived at the resort,
there were people nude in the lobby. They acted so nonchalant, like they lived this way.
While we were in our room, I looked out and saw that the people on the beach seemed so
natural. I figured nobody knew me and I would blend in better if I was nude. Everyone
was so nice. That week we spent the entire week nude. We even did the grocery
shopping nude. It was a really great experience. That was 16 years ago. We have met
some very nice and interesting people who are nudist through the years. I’m glad I made
the decision to be a part of my husband lifestyle.
